The online Professional Forum "Child Protection: Overview of the Impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic on Hong Kong Children for Better Child Protection" was held on 9 December 2021, nearly 160 professionals from different specialty have participated. In the forum, five guest speakers shared with participants the physical impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children; the trend of child sexual abuse cases and how to deal with the challenges; the importance of social and emotional development; the impact on children’s psychological development, emotions and behavior and pressure faced by parents, and how schools and teachers can help children to cope with learning challenges, so as to alleviate the psychological pressure of children under the new normal of learning.
